KINGSBOROUGH COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO HOST AWARD-WINNING ECO-FESTIVAL FOR FIFTH YEAR, APRIL 27-30

Brooklyn, N.Y., April 21 -- Kingsborough Community College, Brooklyn’s only community college, has announced that it will host its fifth annual Eco-Festival, April 27-30, 2010. The theme is “Sustainable NYC.” The four-day event is free and open to the public. Eco-Festival, the winner of the 2008 CUNY Sustainability Award for environmental education and advocacy, is designed to provide a unique opportunity for students, faculty, staff and members of the Brooklyn community to gather together, under a common banner, and engage in a dialogue centered on environmental problems and challenges faced globally at the dawn of the twenty-first century. The Eco-Festival will be held in the college’s MAC Rotunda and other near-by locations. The college is located at 2001 Oriental Boulevard, Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn.
Kingsborough Community College Receives Presidential Community Service Award

Brooklyn, New York, March 4 –For four consecutive years, Kingsborough Community College has been named to the 2009 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning and civic engagement.

KINGSBOROUGH COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO HOLD RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY FOR RENOVATED AND EXPANDED NURSING LABS

Brooklyn, N.Y., October 21 – Dr. Regina Peruggi, president of Kingsborough Community College (KCC), today announced that the college will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to inaugurate the newly renovated and expanded labs in its Nursing Program Thursday, October 22, at 10 a.m., Room M421. Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, whose office provided the funding for the renovation and expansion of the labs, will participate in the ceremony.

Brooklyn, N.Y., October 7 – Dr. Regina Peruggi, president of Kingsborough Community College (KCC), today announced that the college, in partnership with the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, will host the 2009 Healthy Homes, Healthy Families Expo on Thursday, October 15. The free Expo will be held in the Marine Academic Center (MAC) Rotunda and will run from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Expo will feature exhibits, workshops, training, and free give-aways throughout the day. Speakers and exhibitors represent city, state and federal agencies, non-profit partners, community organizations, and others who have information on important in-home safety topics.
Dr. Jill Biden to Deliver Commencement Address and Mayor Michael Bloomberg to Receive President’s Medal at Kingsborough Community College Commencement

Brooklyn, NY – June 4 – Dr. Regina Peruggi, president of Kingsborough Community College (KCC), today announced that Dr. Jill Biden, lifelong educator and wife of the Vice President of the United States, will deliver the commencement address at the college’s 44th commencement ceremony. Dr. Biden will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from the City University of New York. Mayor Bloomberg will receive the President’s Medal, the college’s highest honor, and will address the graduates. The graduation will take place on campus, 2001 Oriental Blvd, Brooklyn, NY, Friday, June 12, at 11 a.m.
